New Delhi [India], February 8 (ANI): Manish Sisodia, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from the Jangpura constituency, expressed confidence in the party's success ahead of the results, and asserted that the party has to do a lot more work for Delhi.
Speaking about the upcoming election results, he acknowledged the anxiety on the result day.
While speaking with ANI, Sisodia said, "We are confident that the (AAP) government will be formed. We have to do a lot more work for Delhi and the education of the childrens."
While speaking with the reporters, he added, "Everyone has anxiety on result day. We are human too, but we have this faith that we are going to form the government as we have worked under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal."
The Jangpura constituency candidate asserted that the party would form a government with a "huge majority" as the citizens voted for "politics of honesty and work."
Sisodia told reporters, "People have voted for the politics of honesty and work. We are going to form a government with a huge majority. The people have given their verdict which will be declared just after a few hours."
The Jangpura assembly constituency is witnessing a triangular contest between AAP's Manish Sisodia, Congress' Farhad Suri, and BJP's Tarvinder Singh Marwah.
The AAP is aiming for a third consecutive term, while the BJP is striving to return to power after more than two decades in the National Capital.
The Congress, which was in power for 15 consecutive years in Delhi, has faced setbacks in the last two assembly elections and has failed to win any seats.
AAP has dominated the last two assembly elections in Delhi, but the BJP is looking to break the trend and reclaim power after more than two decades.
The BJP's campaign, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, targeted Kejriwal over alleged issues with the Yamuna water and corruption. Meanwhile, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra held rallies, accusing AAP of "damaging" the infrastructure of Delhi. (ANI)
