AAI's new regional executive director for NorthEast Sanjeev Jindal optimistic about 'tough job'

Guwahati (Assam) [India], May 14 (ANI): Sanjeev Jindal appointed as the new regional executive director of Airports Authority of India of the Northeast region has taken up his duties at Guwahati, headquarters of the region, from May 1 onwards, according to authorities. Jindal is the 15th regional executive director of AAI in the Northeast region.

Guwahati (Assam) [India], May 14 (ANI): Sanjeev Jindal appointed as the new regional executive director of Airports Authority of India of the Northeast region has taken up his duties at Guwahati, headquarters of the region, from May 1 onwards, according to authorities. Jindal is the 15th regional executive director of AAI in the Northeast region.
The former General Manager of Engineering and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), AAI, Jindal has a vast experience of over a quarter century in planning, designing, managing and construction of airports in India.
The North East Region is considered to be one of the hard and difficult regions to work due to its geographical conditions, heavy rains and uncertain weather conditions which poses a challenge to flight schedules.
Jindal said he is very optimistic about working with the adverse conditions and handling the tough jobs here.
"I am committed to give my best to the good people of North East, especially the underprivileged. This area is developing fast and will try to transform the North East region as one of the most comfortable destinations for our employees and stakeholders" he said.
He is known for successfully completing many odd and tough assignments including Leh Airport in Jammu and Kashmir, the new Greenfield projects like Kishangarh Airport in Ajmer, Rajasthan.
"As the first Airport Director of Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport in Leh, the world's highest airport, he was widely commended by the then Chairman, AAI and the Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, for handling natural calamity and severe cloud bursts in the year 2010," according to a statement by AAI.
Jindal graduated as a civil engineer from Delhi College of Engineering and Masters in Project Management from School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi.
He also has a Masters in Science of Living, Yoga and Meditation besides certificates in Aviation Management from IIM, Ahmedabad and Project Management from George Washington University, USA.
He has got various commendations and accolades for quality assignments. Some of the awards include Best Public Servant Award from CIDC for the year 2018.
He received 'Bhama Shah Shiksha Vibhushan Award' from the government of Rajasthan. He has been conferred with 'Sir Visvesvaraya Award' for construction of Kishangarh Airport Project for the year 2018.
Apart from these awards, he has also represented Airports Authority of India in International Forum in Dubai, and as an artist, he has exhibited his work in national and international art galleries. (ANI)
