Airports Authority of India Officer's institute stages play

New Delhi [India], May 7 (ANI): The Airports Authority of India Officer's institute under the guidance of Kala Darpan Group staged a play named 'Emperor's New Clothes' here on Monday.
The members of AAI officer's institute donned in traditional outfits performed and enthralled audiences.
Director of the play Dr Suwarn Rawat highlighted the challenges faced by the artists while performing.
Rawat said, "It was very challenging to perform a full-length play in open air (open stage). Even the actors could hold the audience and it was a wonderful experience as people appreciated us a lot."
Further Vice President of Kalyanmayee (female-wing of the AAI) Chhavi Aggarwal said that the program went off successfully.
"It was a colourful blend of comedy and drama. The club has organised various exercises and events of this kind. Earlier, an art camp was organized where children got to learn about art and painting" Chhavi said.
She further highlighted that since past two decades, the Airports Authority of India Officers' Institute is contributing towards promotion of performing arts including plays, nukkad nataks, docu-dramas by involving their employees and their families.
The Chairman of the Airports Authority of India said that they are planning to organise different forms of art camps in future.
He highlighted the fact that the program was organised in collaboration with the National School of Drama.
"It's been a wonderful experience. I think everybody enjoyed it. I enjoyed it personally. There was a good participation and we do hope we will continue to do such exercise and events in the future also. We would also be organizing a camp for our children, staff and their families and we would also organize a subsequent camp will organise with another such drama in near future."
The Emperor's New Clothes is authored by Hans Christian Andersen. It describes a tale of two weavers who promise an emperor a new suit which they claim to be invisible to those who are incompetent.
In reality, the weavers never make any clothes for anyone while giving an excuse that the clothes are invisible.
When the emperor parades before his subjects in his new "clothes", no one dares to say that they do not see any suit of clothes on him for fear that they will be seen as stupid.
Finally, a child cries out, "But he isn't wearing anything at all!"
The tale has been translated into over 100 languages. (ANI)
