New Delhi [India], October 31 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali on Thursday with Army jawans in Gujarat's Kachchh, continuing a tradition he has upheld since taking office in 2014. Later, PM Modi shared a video, describing his Diwali with the security personnel as "memorable."

In a post on X, PM Modi wrote, "A memorable Diwali with our security personnel in a remote and inhospitable area in Kutch!"
The Prime Minister emphasised that Bharat cannot compromise on even an inch of its borders, expressing trust in the determination of India's soldiers.
"Today, Bharat cannot compromise on even an inch of its borders. That's why our policies align with the resolve of our armed forces. We trust the determination of our soldiers, not the words of our enemies," PM Modi told the soldiers.
PM Modi also praised the unyielding bravery of the jawans, saying, "Serving our motherland is a privilege. When the nation sees your unwavering resolve, your unrelenting bravery, and unparalleled valour, it feels assured of safety and peace! When the world sees you, it sees India's strength; when enemies see you, they witness the end of their sinister plans. When you roar with enthusiasm, the masters of terror tremble with fear."
PM Modi highlighted India's progress in indigenous defence production, particularly in the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
"Today, India is building its own submarines. Our Tejas fighter plane is strengthening the Air Force. Previously, India was known as a country that imported weapons. Today, India is exporting defence equipment to many countries around the world," he stated.
"With a focus on twenty-first-century needs, we are equipping our armed forces with modern resources, placing our Army among the world's most advanced military forces. The foundation of these efforts is self-reliance in the defence sector," he added.
PM Modi also lauded the forces for their hard work and sacrifices that keep the country secure.
"Our nation is a living consciousness, which we worship as Mother India. Thanks to the dedication and sacrifice of our soldiers, the country and its citizens remain safe. Only a secure nation can progress. As we advance towards a developed India, you are the protectors of this dream," PM Modi said.
"Today, every citizen contributes their utmost to the nation's development because they have faith in you. I am confident your bravery will continue to strengthen India's trust," he added.
PM Modi celebrated Diwali with Border Security Force (BSF), Army, Navy, and Air Force personnel at Lakki Nala in the Sir Creek area of Kachchh, Gujarat.
The area where PM Modi spent Diwali is notoriously inhospitable, with extreme heat during the day and freezing temperatures at night, coupled with challenging terrain. Since 2014, he has celebrated Diwali with the troops.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi honoured Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, Gujarat, on National Unity Day. He attended the parade and observed an air show by the Indian Air Force's Suryakiran Aerobatic Team. (ANI)
