Development in Himachal began only after BJP came at Centre: Nadda

Bilaspur (Himachal Pradesh) [India], Oct 3 (ANI): Union Health Minister and former Himachal Pradesh MLA Jagat Prakash Nadda said on Tuesday that development in the hill state began only after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power at the Centre.

"The bricks of development (vikas ke patthar) were put only after BJP came to power," Nadda said at the Aabhar rally in Bilaspur, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

Conveying his gratitude to the Prime Minister, Nadda said "The first time that Modi ji visits the state after its formation, he gifts us with AIIMS."

The Union Minister also took the opportunity to take a shot at the former United Progressive Alliance (UPA)-led government and alleged that the UPA government never addressed the issues of Himachal Pradesh, even after he raised several issues in the Parliament.

Nadda informed that the upcoming AIIMS unit in Bilaspur will have 20 super specialty departments, 15 to 20 Operation Theatres, and a provision for 100 students every year.

"When time comes, we must repay the Prime Minister who gave us 69 national highways and AIIMS to the people of Himachal Pradesh," Nadda addressed the audience present.

Notably, Congress-ruled Himachal Pradesh is likely to go to polls in November this year. (ANI)
