Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh), [India], Mar 9 (ANI): Around 10 platoons of 550 cadets (both from direct entry and departmental entry) were commissioned as Sub-Inspectors (SI) after a grand Passing out Parade under the command of trainee SI Sanjay at BSF Academy in Tekanpur. The event was presided by Director General, Border Security Force (BSF), Rajnikanth Mishra.
During the course of training, the cadets were trained in drill, weapons handling, combat skills, shooting, hand-to-hand combat, human rights laws, map reading, field craft, field engineering, border management skills and fighting terrorism amongst others. They also underwent training on personality development, leadership skills and character building.
A BSF band playing 'Hum seema ke prahri, seena taan ke khade' was deeply appreciated by the audience.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajnikanth Mishra thanked the parents of the cadets and said that from now onwards, these trainee officers will play an important role in ensuring the nation's security for which they have been imparted this rigorous training.
DG Mishra commended the cadets for their smart turn-out and high-quality drill saying that it reflected their confidence and capabilities. He expressed confidence that with their hard work and dedication, they will make BSF and India proud in the entire world.
“As soon as you arrive in the unit, the real test for whatever the instructors have taught you at the academy will start, where you will have to show your leadership,” he added.
Mishra also cautioned the cadets that they must ensure no human rights abuse take place while they are discharging their duties. “As young commanders, you will have to lead your platoon to deal with anarchic and terrorist elements. While discharging your duties, you will have to ensure that human rights of common man are not violated,” he said.
DG further said that it was a matter of pride for the parents to send their children in Armed Forces. “BSF is world’s largest border guarding force. Choosing a career in the Armed Forces and sending their children to serve the nation is a matter of pride for the state.
Cadet Pratyush Vishisht stood first in the order of merit and was awarded the “Baton of trainer trophy” amongst the cadets from direct entry while Yogendra Singh won the award in departmental entry category. (ANI)
