4 died, 4 injured as bus rams into roadside hutments in South Goa

Four persons died and four injured when a bus rammed into the roadside hutments at Verna in South Goa district on Sunday, said police.

South Goa (Goa) [India], May 26 (ANI): Four persons were killed and and equal number of them sustained injuries when a bus rammed into roadside hutments at Verna in South Goa district on Sunday, said police.
The police said that the deceased and the injured were the natives of Bihar.
"A bus was carrying employees of a private company. The driver failed in his attempt to make a turn and rammed the bus into the hutments by the side of the road... There were workers sleeping inside. Four of them have died and four of them are receiving treatment in a Sub-district hospital in Madgaon," Sunita Sawant, Superintendent of Police South Goa said.
The police officer said that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
"All of them are natives of Bihar. At the time of the accident, the driver was under the influence of alcohol," Sawant said. (ANI)
