38-year-old man arrested in Delhi for kidnapping toddler

New Delhi [India], October 17 (ANI): Delhi Police arrested a person for kidnapping a two-year-old girl, within seven hours after receiving the information.
The police said that a PCR call informing of the incident was received at Madhu Vihar Police Station around 3.20 pm on Sunday. On receiving the call a police team reached the spot and a woman said her daughter was playing in the street when some unindentifed person kidnapped her from outside her residence.
The CCTV at the spot was analyzed and it was found that the child was lifted and taken away by a man. A case under section 363 of IPC was registered in this connection and an investigation was taken up.
Many teams were formed and a search of public places such as parks, bus stands, bus terminals, and railway station was conducted.
About 50 CCTV cameras at and around the spot were analyzed and the photographs of the kidnapped child and the perpetrator were taken and the same were shown to almost every person in the neighbourhood and in the locality of Allah Colony.

In the meantime, the CCTV Camera trail revealed that the perpetrator along with the kidnapped child went through the streets of Allah Colony, Shri Ram Chowk reached at West Vinod Nagar Metro Station and boarded a DTC bus towards ISBT, Anand Vihar.
A team was sent to ISBT Anand Vihar where the accused Ragib, 38, was found near the reservation counter at ISBT, Anand Vihar Railway Station along with the kidnapped child.
Ragib, a resident of Chhater Bhog in Bihar's Purnia district was nabbed and both he and hte baby were taken into custody.
After Interrogation, Section 365 IPC was added to the case and the child was reuinted with her parents. Case was solved within seven hours by the East District Police, according to officials.
Further investigation is on to dertermine the motive behind the kidnapping. (ANI)
