30-feet effigy of Ravan burnt in Ludhiana on Dussehra

Telangana Scheduled Tribes Morcha on Sunday staged a protest against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, burning her effigy over Protocol lapses during Indian President Droupadi Murmu's Bengal tour on Saturday.

The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students on Friday gathered to burn the effigy of JNU Vice Chancellor Santishree D Pandit over her alleged casteist remarks, and condemned the Delhi Police for detaining and arresting JNU students following yesterday's protest staged to demand the implementation of UGC regulations.

The protesters burned an effigy of the Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha. They carried Vaishno Devi flags and chanted "Go back, LG, Go back" slogans to affirm their demand to cancel admissions to the medical college.

"Bajrang Dal has protested against the Bangladesh government today over the atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh and we have also burned an effigy of the Bangladesh government. We demand that President's Rule be imposed in Bangladesh and the extremists roaming on the street should be taken into custody," a member of the Bajrang Dal told ANI.

The Himachal Pradesh Youth Congress on Thursday held a 'Raj Bhawan Gherao' protest march from the Congress headquarters in Shimla to the Raj Bhawan, alleging large-scale "vote chori" (vote theft) across the country. The protesters also burned an effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the demonstration.
