2 soldiers killed in encounter with terrorists in J-K's Anantnag

Two Indian Army soldiers lost their lives in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag on Saturday, an official said.

Anantnag (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], August 10 (ANI): Two Indian Army soldiers lost their lives in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag on Saturday, an official said.
"Two Indian Army soldiers lost their lives in an encounter with terrorists in Anantnag district of Kashmir. Operations are still in progress," Defence officials said.
The two soldiers were injured in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in the Kokernag area of Anantnag, officials said.
Earlier, in a post on X, the Indian Army's Chinar Corps said, "Based on specific intelligence input, a Joint Operation was launched by Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF today in general area Kokernag, Anantnag. Contact was established and firefight ensued. Two personnel have been injured and evacuated from the area. Operations are in progress."
Earlier in the day, another encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in the Ahlan Gagarmandu area of Anantnag district, police said.
"Encounter has started at Ahlan Gagarmandu area of District Anantnag. Police and Security forces are on the job," read a post on the official X handle of Kashmir Zone Police.
In a related development, the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday released sketches of four terrorists who were last seen in Dhoks of Malhar, Bani, and Seojdhar in the Kathua district. The police also announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for information leading to their capture.
This incident follows recent terror attacks in the Jammu region, including a terror attack on an army convoy in Kathua and encounters in Doda and Udhampur. (ANI)
