16 people dead in Assam in illicit liquor tragedy

Golaghat (Assam) [India], Feb 22 (ANI): Sixteen people, including nine women, died after they consumed illicit alcohol in Assam’s Golaghat, a hospital doctor said on Friday.

Golaghat (Assam) [India], Feb 22 (ANI): Sixteen people, including nine women, died after they consumed illicit alcohol in Assam’s Golaghat, a hospital doctor said on Friday.
While four persons were brought dead to the hospital last night, 12 others died today, Dileep Rajvanshi, a doctor at the government hospital, told ANI.
He said, “Initial diagnosis suggests alcohol poisoning.”
Post-mortem examination is yet to be done, he added. 
In a hooch tragedy in September 2017, four people died and several others were injured in Assam's Tinsukia district. (ANI)
