143 Punjab Police officers transferred in administrative reshuffle

A total of 143 Punjab Police officers have been transferred in an administrative reshuffle, with key appointments including Arvind Meena as ASP SD North, Amritsar, and Sheetal Singh as DSP of the PBI Crime Against Women & Children.

Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], September 24 (ANI): A total of 143 Punjab Police officers have been transferred as part of an administrative reshuffle approved by the Police Establishment Committee.
These transfers include Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP), Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP), and other senior officials.
Notable transfers include Arvind Meena, who has been appointed ASP SD North, Amritsar, after completing his Phase-II training. Similarly, Akarshi Jain has been reassigned from ASP SD Central, Ludhiana, to ASP SD Gill, Ludhiana, while Vaibhav Choudhary moves from ASP SD City-1, Patiala, to ASP Detective, Patiala.
In Jalandhar, Sirivennela has been designated ASP SD Model Town following the completion of training, and Rishabh Bhola has been appointed ASP SD North. Other significant appointments include Dilpreet Singh, who takes on the role of ASP SD Dina Nagar, Gurdaspur.
Among DSP transfers, Maninderpal Singh has been moved from ACP SD North, Amritsar, to ACP Traffic in the same city. Sheetal Singh, who previously served as ASP SD North, Jalandhar, is now DSP of the Punjab Bureau of Investigation (PBI) Crime Against Women & Children, Jalandhar Rural. Another key transfer includes Anil Kumar Bhanot, who will assume the role of ACP SD Central, Ludhiana, after his previous post as DSP of PBI Crime Against Women & Children.
These transfers are part of routine administrative changes aimed at improving the law and order situation in Punjab, ensuring that senior officers are strategically placed to address local issues efficiently.
This comprehensive reshuffling has been implemented with immediate effect. "The above officers may be relieved immediately with the directions to report to their new places of posting by 24-09-2024 F.N., and their charge assumption/relinquishing reports should be sent to this office immediately," read the notification issued by the Director General of Police, Punjab.
In a separate update from Punjab, five Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs were sworn in as ministers in Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's Punjab government on September 23 following a rejig of the state government's cabinet. The new ministers are Tarunpreet Singh Sond, Barinder Kumar Goyal, Ravjot Singh, Hardeep Singh Mundian, and Mohinder Bhagat. (ANI)
