Madurai (Tamil Nadu) [India], September 29 (ANI): Tamil Nadu Minister for IT and Digital Services Palanivel Thiagarajan said on Friday that the state government has started the process of setting up 10 new IT (information technology) parks in various locations of the state, including Hosur, Coimbatore, and  Chennai.
"Steps are being taken to enable new companies to operate in existing IT parks in Tamil Nadu including Madurai and steps are also being taken to set up IT parks in 10 locations in Tamil Nadu including Hosur, Coimbatore and Chennai. Projects announced on behalf of the IT department will be implemented without delay," Thiagarajan told reporters here after attending the "Connect Madurai 2023" Conference on Information Technology Development organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry.
Thiagarajan said that the IT sector is going to play a very important role in future job creation and improvement in people's lives.
"In the two and a half years since the DMK came to power, many programs have been implemented in all departments. Various assistances are being provided to new entrepreneurs by the state government, "Thiagarajan said.
"Recessions are generally rare in developing countries. There has been no recession in developing countries in 40 years. Recessions occurred in developing countries only during the Covid period. Even though the IT companies were in recession during the Covid period, the IT companies in places like Chennai were in growth trajectory," the minister added. (ANI)
