Women steer train on the International Women's Day on Friday.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh)/Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], Mar 8 (ANI): On the occasion of International Women's Day on Friday, some women were given the opportunity to take charge of air traffic while some others were seen checking tickets and conducting surveillance on board a special train.
The Indian Railways rolled out a unique initiative by introducing an all-women train from Bhopal to Bilaspur. Onboard the Bhopal-Bilaspur Express, women were seen checking tickets and also serving as Loco Pilot and Group Constable.
"Today I am very happy that the railway gave me the chance to run a special train on the International Women's day. I will run this train from Bhopal to Bina. It is a very challenging job for women," the loco pilot told ANI.
"I accepted this challenge and I want to send a message to everyone that equal participation of women in every sector is must to build a constructive and united nation which will reflect the image of New India," she added.
Meanwhile, Swami Vivekanand Airport in Raipur offered an opportunity to two women --Aditi Arora and Sanjula Jaiswal--to monitor air traffic at the airport.
International Women's day is celebrated on March 8 every year. Earlier, the day was generally celebrated by the socialist movement and communist countries until it was adopted by the United Nations in 1975. (ANI)
