PM Modi mocking U'khand tragedy, has no answers for Opposition: Rahul Gandhi on 'earthquake' jibe

New Delhi [India], Feb. 7 (ANI): Hitting back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his 'earthquake' remark, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said the former had mocked the tragedy of Uttarakhand and insults the freedom struggle but has no answers to the opposition's questions. "The Prime Minister mocks the tragedy of Uttarakhand & insults the freedom struggle but has no answers to the opposition's questions," he tweeted along with an image titled "India is waiting for your answers Modi Ji!" The image posted by Rahul showcases a list of 5 questions: 1. Amount of black money recovered after 8th November 2016? 2. Economic loss to the nation and number of jobs lost? 3. How many people died due to demonetisation, has the compensation been paid? 4. Who all did PM consult on demonetisation? Why were experts, economists, RBI not consulted? 5. Who all deposited more than 25 lakhs in bank accounts, in 6 months, preceding 8th November 2016? Addressing the Parliament earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack at Rahul Gandhi's 'earthquake' remark that was made in December 2016, saying that the country finally felt the tremors on Monday. Replying to the discussion on motion of thanks to President Pranab Mukherjee's address, Prime Minister Modi said, "Finally earthquake occurred." Lashing out at Rahul Gandhi over his 'scam' remark, Prime Minister Modi asked, "How can someone see 'seva' or any positive virtue in the word 'scam'. The Prime Minister's comments come hours after an earthquake of magnitude 5.8 shook northern India on Monday night, with tremors felt across Uttarakhand, Delhi and adjoining areas, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana. On December 9 last year, Rahul Gandhi had said that his speech on demonetisation - if he's allowed to speak in the Lok Sabha - has the potential to cause an "earthquake." "The government is running from debate. If they allow me to speak then you will see what an earthquake will come," Rahul Gandhi had said. (ANI)
