New Delhi [India], May 11 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday announced an ex-gratia of Rs. two lakh for the next of kin of those killed in Bharatpur wedding hall collapse incident.

New Delhi [India], May 11 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday announced an ex-gratia of Rs. two lakh for the next of kin of those killed in Bharatpur wedding hall collapse incident. The Prime Minister also announced a compensation of Rs. 50,000 for those injured in the collapse. At least 25 people were killed and 28 sustained injuries after a wedding hall collapsed in Bharatpur, Rajasthan last night. Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje is also likely to visit the incident spot. District Magistrate N.K. Gupta said that a thunderstorm and rainfall in the district caused the wedding house to collapse. "To protect themselves from the rain, some guests tried to stand under a wall, which subsequently collapsed, killing 22 and injuring over 28 people, out of which two have been critically injured. They have been hospitalised and are being attended to by a team of doctors," he said. The incident took place at the Annapurna Marriage Home located on Sewar Road.(ANI)
