Kashmir needs new government, says Aiyar

New Delhi [India], Oct. 11 (ANI): Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar on Tuesday asserted that in order to solve down the Kashmir issue and bring normalcy in the Valley, it would be better if the BJP-PDP government dissolves in the state and a new government is formed which has one view over the Kashmir issue. Speaking to ANI, Aiyar said that both the BJP and the PDP have different views for Kashmir and that's why they are unable to connect to the people and restore peace in the Valley. "I had earlier said that the perspective of Mehbooba's PDP and the BJP for Kashmir is totally opposite and, therefore, how it could be possible that these two parties run the government in Jammu and Kashmir. Especially knowing the fact that problem lies in the Kashmir Valley, where BJP was unable to win any seat. It was PDP which won all the seats in Kashmir. So, if there is any voice of Kashmir in the government, it is that of Mehbooba," Aiyar said. "It would be better if they (BJP-PDP) themselves break the alliance and fresh elections are held and a government is elected which has one view on Kashmir. It would then help the Centre in forming the schemes and implement them," he added. Earlier today, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat, while asserting that Pakistan was the key element behind instigating violence in the Valley, sent a message to the hostile neighbour that Kashmir is an integral part of India and so is Gilgit-Baltistan. Commenting on this statement, the Congress leader said, "Whatever Mohan Bhagwat has said is nothing new. He is now saying that the PDP Government in Jammu and Kashmir is not supporting the Centre in implementing the schemes. I want to remind Bhagwat ji that RSS's Ram Madhav, who made the alliance with the PDP post elections and at that time I had said that there was no basis of this alliance." Addressing the RSS cadres in Nagpur, Bhagwat stated that the unrest in Kashmir is being induced from across the LoC and it is a fact not hidden from anyone and the whole world knows. "The country is growing. There are some countries in the world who don't want to see India progress. They at times get support from people within. Kashmir is a serious concern. The commitment of our government is clear that Kashmir is an integral part of India and so is Gilgit-Baltistan," he said in his annual Vijayadashami speech at the Reshimbagh Ground. Emphasising that a large part of Kashmir is free of tension and violence, he called on the nation and the government to act against those indulging in this violence Calling on ensuring that justice is delivered to the displaced Kashmiri Pandits, Bhagwat further said that forces across the border are encouraging separatist forces in Kashmir.
