Kapil Mishra's allegation will damage AAP politically: Ex-Delhi Chief Secy
New Delhi [India], May 7 (ANI): After ousted Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kapil Mishra made a revelation alleging his former colleague Satyendra Jain of giving a sum of Rs. 2 crore to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Delhi Chief Secretary Omesh Sehgal said that the allegation would damage the political image of the party. "Politically, this will be quite damaging; there is no doubt about that. But legally this remains to be an allegation, because there has to be quid pro quo. It has to be probed by the prosecution. There will be a lot of political pressure and hullaballoo, but nothing will happen," Sehgal said. Raking up a controversy, Mishra earlier in the day, in a press briefing after meeting Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, said, "Day before yesterday, I saw Satyendra Jain giving Rs. 2 crore to Arvind Kejriwal and I wasn't able to sleep the entire night." Following Mishra's startling allegation, all the political parties are training guns at the Delhi Chief Minister unanimously, while demanding his resignation. Delhi Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) chief Manoj Tiwari asserted that Kejriwal had surpassed Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in terms of corruption. "It is a black day for Delhi. The whole of Delhi is in a state of shock after Kapil Mishra's revelation. The chief ministers of all the states must also be in the state of shock following this. It is not an allegation, but a statement of a witness. I would like to thank Kapil Mishra for the courage that he has shown by raising his voice against corruption," Tiwari told the media here. The state BJP president further demanded Kejriwal's resignation while saying that he neither had moral nor legal right to continue as the chief minister. Meanwhile, the Congress party asserted that the AAP had mocked the very principles of 'Lokayukt' where its foundation lay. "The AAP has also mocked the very principles of the 'Lokayukt' where its foundation lay. The party has no intention of following the huge claims of integrity and transparency they made earlier. They're merely fooling the citizens," Congress leader Shakeel Ahmad told ANI. Echoing the same, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh branded kejriwal as 'robber' while demanding his resignation. "I have been saying this for so many years that they are thieves and robbers. Many charges are levelled against him. Now, their own party leader has made serious charges against them," Amarinder told the media here. The AAP, on its part, has denied all the allegations. (ANI)
