New Delhi, Aug 12 (ANI): The Congress Party on Friday said that the crime rate in Uttar Pradesh is rising under the rule of the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party.

New Delhi, Aug 12 (ANI): The Congress Party on Friday said that the crime rate in Uttar Pradesh is rising under the rule of the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party. Reacting to the attack on senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Brijpal Teotia on Thursday night near Ghaziabad, senior Congress leader Rita Bahuguna Joshi talking told ANI, "This is a very serious issue. Over hundred rounds were fired. BJP leader Brij Pal Teotia is much closer to our Home Minister as have I heard. The criminals should to be arrested and action should to be taken and an investigation should be done as to how the incident took place." "Crime rate is increasing at a rapid rate in Uttar Pradesh. The Samajwadi Party led state-government should look after the law and order situation." she added. National Commission for Scheduled Castes chairman P.L. Punia told ANI "It is very shameful that a Bharatiya Janata Party leader has been gunned down in Ghaziabad". He added "Criminals are moving freely with AK-47 in the state. Even the state police do not have AK-47, but the criminals are moving around with such dangerous weapons. The security situation has become deplorable in the state." "Is the UP Government even interested in maintaining law and order in the state? If so, then how every day two or three incidents are taking place in Ghaziabad and Noida which are near the national capital," he asked.(ANI)
