BJP dubs Dola Sen as 'reflection of TMC culture'
New Delhi [India], Apr. 8 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday said that the behaviour exhibited by the Trinamool Congress MP Dola Sen, which led to the delay of an Air India flight by 30 minutes, is a reflection of her party's culture. BJP MP Rupa Ganguly said that it is because of such people that the term 'VIP culture' has come up. "It's very unfortunate because people like her set examples and creates perception of VIPs. That's how the word 'VIP culture' has come up. It's not right. Not everybody likes to do that. I have seen some other members creating ruckus at airport just because they were asked to take out their laptop out...Being MPs, we should be more careful in order to set example in front of everybody. Dola Sen is a reflection of the TMC culture. It is very unfortunate," Ganguly told ANI. Resonating similar views, BJP leader Satpal Singh said the MPs should not misuse the powers granted to them by the Parliament. "No person should, where public utility services are into use, lead to wastage of time. The MPs should not misuse the powers given to him by the Parliament," Singh told ANI. In yet another reminder of the VVIP culture, Dola Sen yesterday delayed the Air India flight from Delhi to Kolkata by 30 minutes after refusing to abide by the security protocols. As per sources, Air India had requested Sen to shift her senior citizen mother's seat from the emergency exit, but the MP refused and created a ruckus. Sen's mother was on wheel chair and as per the rules, she couldn't sit near the exit door. The crew requested the MP to change the seat. Recently, Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad also delayed Air India flight for 45 minutes and even attracted controversy for hitting the staffer of national carrier with his slipper over the issue of seating arrangement. Air India and six private airlines banned the 56-year-old MP from flying as he refused to apologise for the incident that triggered nationwide outrage. (ANI)
