AAP should introspect instead of counter-attacking: BJP
New Delhi [India], May15 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday hit back at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for terming sacked Delhi minister Kapil Mishra's corruption allegations as the saffron party's conspiracy, while saying that it should introspect over the fiasco instead of making counter-charges. "Kapil Mishra has levelled very serious charges against Kejriwal and AAP. These all are very serious economic offence which needs to be investigated thoroughly to go to the bottom of the problem. Unfortunately Kejriwal's standard reply is, 'it is BJP or Modi conspiracy'. Instead of introspecting and handing over the case to competent investigation authorities they are making counter charges which clearly says that there is something big to hide from their own stable," BJP leader S. Prakash told ANI. Echoing similar views, BJP leader Shyam Jaju said the AAP is trying to put the onus of its corruption charges on the saffron party. "The allegations have been made by their own leader not by any opposition leader. They have been exposed in front of public and now they cannot defend themselves by putting the blames on us," Jaju noted. In a dramatic press conference Mishra yesterday accused Kejriwal of corruption and warned him to resign by the evening. Addressing a press conference, Mishra said, "Arvind Kejriwal, have some shame. If you don't resign by today evening, I will drag you from your office to Tihar Jail." Mishra further alleged that for three continuous years, black money was converted into white and spent on foreign trips of the AAP leaders. "AAP did not inform about some of its funding which it received from fake companies," he said. Mishra targeted Kejriwal and revealed that 16 shell companies deposited money worth crores in AAP's bank accounts. "These fake companies are registered in the name of AAP MLA from Moti Nagar, Shivcharan Goyal. These companies have given Rs. two crore to Kejriwal at 12 a.m. The fund received from these companies were sent to same branch branch of Axis Bank where there were allegations of converting black money into white at the time of demonetisation," he added. He further alleged that the AAP has its bank account at the Krishnanagar branch of Axis Bank and all the transactions happen from there. Mishra also shared a blank cheque without a date which has already been encashed. "I file case against Arvind Kejriwal in Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday in connection with conversion of black money to white," the AAP leader said. However, rubbishing all the allegations made by Mishra, the AAP said that the party followed all the norms in the matter, adding that the charges levelled against it are just part of the conspiracy planned by the BJP. "It is all a part of the conspiracy by the BJP to malign the image of the party and de-recognize it. One year ago even the Prime Minister levelled such allegations against us and now through Kapil Sharma is repeating the similar statement. What the BJP says, Kapil Mishra repeats," said AAP leader Sanjay Singh in a press briefing here. (ANI)
