'Acche Din' will come only when Congress comes to power in 2019: Rahul Gandhi
New Delhi [India], Jan. 11 (ANI): Continue to tear into Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his demonetisation drive, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said for the first time in the history, the Prime Minister of India is being ridiculed all over the world for taking an "incompetent and ill-planned" decision. Speaking at the Jan Vedna convention here Gandhi said, "For the first time in the history, the Prime Minister of India is being ridiculed for taking such as incompetent and ill-planned decision." He said the demonetisation move was not RBI's decision but a 'personal decision' of Prime Minister Modi. "Today they (BJP) have weakened every institution. For the first time in history Prime Minister of India is being ridiculed. The Prime Minister needs to spend some time with the poor, farmers of the country and ask them why suddenly people are running to villages? Today I read in newspaper that Prime Minister said he will transform India," he said. Praising his party's 'good governance', Gandhi said the nation was well aware with what the Congress did in the last 70 years, and that they understand the blood and tears that the party leaders have given for this country. "The Bharatiya Janata Party and our Prime Minister are in the habit of saying that what Congress did in the last 70 years, but people of the country know very well what the congress did. People of the country understand the blood and tears that our leaders have given for this country. I can name state after state where Congress workers and leaders have sacrificed their sweat and blood. We do not need to explain what we did or didn't do for last 70 years," he added. In yet another potshot directed towards the Prime Minister, Rahul added that demonetisation is just a excuse as the Prime Minister knows that he cannot hide himself in the name of Yoga, Skill India and Make in India.. "Acche din are only going to come when Congress party is going to come in power in 2019. People of country are wondering when are 'Acche din going to come'. I'll tell them it will come when Congress comes to power again. Our friends in the media are under constraints. They come to me and say they want to say something but can't. 2 1/2 yrs back, Prime Minister Modi asked everything to join Swacch Bharat, the drama continued for a few days; then Make in India, Skill India," he added. Further attacking the Government, Gandhi asked as to why there is sudden fall in the automobile sector and demand for MGNRA suddenly surged. "The Prime Minister needs to ask himself why suddenly auto sales have fallen. Automobiles sale has dropped by 60%. We have gone back 16 years. Prime Minister Modi must ask why has the demand for Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNRA) suddenly surged, why are people migrating for villages instead of cities?," he added.
