'Irresponsible' ad featuring 'unhealthily thin' model banned

London [UK], Nov 8 (ANI): An advert for a travel magazine has been banned for featuring an "unhealthily thin" model.

The watchdogs dubbed the ad in Glamour magazine for Conde Nast Traveller as "irresponsible," the Daily Star reported.

The photo features a woman posing on the beach in green tights and shorts as her hair blows in the wind.

An investigation was launched when the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) received a single complaint in June about the advert.

Conde Nast Traveller magazine said the model was "naturally slim" and "in proportion" while there were "no protruding bones."

The ASA noted that while the model appeared to be in proportion, the angle of the image drew attention to her slimness, particularly her legs, which looked very long and thin.

After concluding that the ad made the model look unhealthily thin, the ASA banned the irresponsible ad from appearing again.

It told Conde Nast Publications "to ensure that in the future their ads were prepared responsibly". (ANI)

Study reveals how the smell of food can enable 'time travel'

Study reveals how the smell of food can enable 'time travel'

Washington [US], October 7 (ANI): Older people exposed to food flavours from their youth were able to 'time travel' back to the past with an enhanced memory of the event. For food memory, the researchers worked with the participants to create bespoke flavor-based cues for each one. The 3D printed flavour-based cues are small edible balls, modelling the original food. A striking outcome was the large number of memories cued by flavours recalled with strong feelings of being brought back in time.

Study reveals that children learn from observation and experiment

Study reveals that children learn from observation and experiment

Washington [US], September 12(ANI): Children learn by seeing and experimenting on their own. They also learn from what others say to them, particularly adults and authority figures such as their parents and teachers. When children discover something unexpected, they seek out more information by asking questions or testing claims. Previous research indicates that whether children investigate adults' surprise assertions varies by age, with children over the age of six being more likely to seek out extra information than children aged four and five. However, there has been little research into why children seek information after being given something startling by adults.
