This is especially true for those travelling to or within Asian countries, as these places have long been considered rich in both culture and tradition that is quite unlike their western counterparts. Here's the list of top unexplored places in Asia by Toehold: · Lepchajagat, West Bengal, India: Lepchajagat is a small village that is situated at an altitude of 6,956 feet, and is 19 kilometers from the town of Darjeeling. The rural community derives its name from the Lepcha tribe, who are native to that region. Lepchajagat also happens to be a forest reserve, and has lots to offer to those seeking to be in the calm lap of nature. Apart from that, the region also offers a great view of Kangchenjunga - the third highest mountain in the world. Lepchajagat is well connected by road from Darjeeling and Siliguri. You can travel either by car or bus to reach Ghoom and take any local transportation to reach the village. · Ha village, Arunachal Pradesh, India: Ha is a tribal village situated in Longding Koling (Pipsorang) town of Kurung Kumey district in the state of Arunachal Pradesh. With a population of 289 people, Ha is considered as one of the smallest villages in India, and is home to 58 households. The spectacular natural beauty surrounding Ha is worth the effort in reaching that place. Travelers can also explore nearby attractions like the ancient Menga Caves, among others. Ha can be reached via Old Ziro, which is the nearest well known township around the village. · Nitoi, Kiphire, Nagaland, India: Nitoi is another small village situated in the Kiphire district in the state of Nagaland. The picturesque village offers breathtaking views of beautiful mountains and terrace vegetation, and is a favorite among nature lovers and photographers. Despite being a remote township, Nitoi is well accessible by road to/from Kiphire, which is a 10 hour drive away from Nagaland's capital city, Kohima. · Chocolate Hills, Philippines : Chocolate Hills is a geological formation found in Bohol province in the sovereign island country of the Philippines. The natural wonder is estimated to have 1268-1776 hills, and is a famous tourist attraction. The hills are spread across 6 municipalities in Bohol, namely Batuan, Sagbayan, Carmen, Valencia, Bilar, and Sierra Bullones. You can reach Bohol via either flight or ferry. · Waterfalls Restaurant, San Pablo City, Philippines: Waterfalls restaurant is another interesting attraction situated in San Pablo city, Philippines. The place is exactly as the name suggests a restaurant that is located in the middle of a small artificial waterfall. People from all around the world come to this place to experience the cuisine served at this unconventional restaurant, and in the process, are left in awe of the natural surroundings in that area. · Khuvsgul Lake, Mongolia: Khovsgoldalai, or Khuvsgul Lake is the largest fresh water lake by volume and second largest by area in Mongolia. It is one of the 17 ancient lakes in the world, and is estimated to be over 2 million years old. Situated at an elevation of 1,645 meters, Khuvsgal is a pristine lake, and is one of the major sources of drinking water in Mongolia. · Tsagaan Suvarga, Mongolia: Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa) is a copper ore deposit &mine situated in the Dundgovi province of south Mongolia, and is famous for its rocky formations. The main attractions here are a 30 meter high cliff, the 70 meter long Khevtee Bosooagui (Lie and Stand Cave), and Del uul (Back Mountain), where tourists and travelers can explore bronze age cave drawings. · Darvaza gas crater, Turkmenistan: The Darvaza gas crater is a natural gas field located in the Derweze village in Turkmenistan. Popularly referred as the 'Gates of Hell', the attraction is due to an accidental cavern collapse that happened back in 1971. The trapped gas pockets were further lit in order to prevent any harmful gasses from escaping. Despite being a man-made wonder, the gas crater has managed to attract curious travelers from around the world, and has now become a popular destination for wild desert camping. · Bokor Hill Station, Cambodia: Bokor Hill station is a township near Kampot province in Cambodia, and is home to a collection of French colonial style buildings. The town is known for its eerie charm, and is being redeveloped following years of neglect. The hauntingly beautiful attraction is accessible by road, and can be explored via local commuting options like scooters or taxis. · Kamchatka, Russia: Kamchatka is one of the most beautiful attractions found in Russia. The 1,250 kilometer long peninsula is a geological wonder, and has several volcanoes, hot springs, geysers, and acidic lakes. The region is also home to different species of arctic wildlife, fish, game animals, and vast marine life.
