Police help couple escape flood on their wedding day

New Jersey [USA], Aug 13 (ANI): Every bride wishes for a wedding day that she can never forget. But as they say, 'careful what you wish for' because a bride in New Jersey got exactly that, a memorable wedding day that she will never forget, even if she tries to.
The bride's fantasy to meet her knight in shining armor met with a twist when the knight came dressed in police uniform to save her and her groom after they were stranded due massive flooding on Saturday (local time).
A video of the rescue mission was posted by the Bogota police on their Facebook page captioned, "Unfortunately due to the quickly rising flood waters, this bride, her new husband and wedding party friends, got a rough start on things. The fortunate thing is we were able to help them through their first rough patch."
Congratulating the couple they also added, "Obviously, their day has not gone as planned, so let's congratulate them on their wedding and give them best wishes for a lifetime of love and adventure, starting now." Given how startling this wedding story is 'adventure' seems to be the operative word here.

In the video, Police officer Michael Laferrera can be seen standing on the top of a black police car, extending his hand towards the bride. The woman, on the other hand, rescues her shoes before getting into the police car herself, while clutching her white wedding dress protectively.
The good news is that no casualties were reported, the police successfully rescued the couple and also the bride's shoes! (ANI)
