New Delhi [India], June 30 (ANI): A day dedicated to social media is proof it is an indispensable part of our lives.
Every 30th of June, the world celebrates social media day.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi among others took to Twitter to celebrate the ninth World Social Media Day.
Prime Minister Modi, in his tweets, congratulated his "young friends for their innovative usage of social media".
"Greetings on #SocialMediaDay! The world of social media has played a key role in democratising our discourse and giving a platform to millions of people around the world to express their views and showcase their creativity," he tweeted.
"I would particularly like to congratulate my young friends for their innovative usage of social media. Their frank method of conveying opinions is extremely endearing. I urge youngsters to continue expressing and discussing freely. #SocialMediaDay," he added.





Stressing on its usage, tweeple said we should use social media 'to impact people.'
"We are all using social media to impress people.. pls use it to impact people.. #SocialMediaDay," wrote one user.


"On social media day, let us raise awareness to use this powerful tool of networking and communication to circulate valuable and truthful information. #SocialMediaDay," tweeted another user.


"#SocialMediaDay This media is so powerful for everyone who wants to put his/her opinion. Also we must avoid negativity to make it even better," tweeted another.
