Human League singer denied entry to airport lounge for this bizarre reason

New Delhi [India], December 19 (ANI): Joanne Catherall, vocalist for English synth-pop band Human League, kicked out of the Qantas business lounge in Melbourne for wearing the wrong kind of boots.

Catherall took to Twitter and shared that the Qantas lounge denied her access to the business class accommodations because the shoes are considered "sleepwear".

She wrote, "Denied access @Qantas business class lounge in @Melair Melbourne Airport apparently Ugg (Australia) Boots are deemed sleepwear by the lady working there although no problem in any of the other lounges so far.Helpfully she suggested I go to one of the shops & purchase some shoes."

To which, Qantas responded, "Hi Joanne, we endeavour to remain consistent and uphold our Lounge's dress guidelines to all our guests."

She then asked, "Why would an @UGG boot I wear outdoors in all weathers be classed as sleepwear in @Qantas lounge but nowhere else that I have ever been on this earth?"

Fans came to her support and tweeted in her favour criticising Qantas

A user wrote, "I'm sorry but @Qantas this is pure snobbery. I always wear Ugg boots to travel in as they r so comfy & I've never not been allowed in a Lounge in America, Europe or the UK."

Another user wrote, "Absolutely unbelievable! I agree with you. I'm a ugg lover and do not consider them to be sleepwear. They can have their lounge & I will keep on rocking my uggs."

This is not the first time that such an incident has happened as in March this year, two women were barred from boarding a United Airlines flight for wearing leggings. (ANI)

Study: Why do we fall for particular people?

Even the shortest ties can sometimes lead to the deepest bonds in life. Like when you attend a party and run into someone wearing the T-shirt of your favourite band, or who laughs at the same jokes as you, or who picks up the oddball food you alone (or so you thought) enjoy. My favourite is when a conversation is started by a tiny, common interest that develops into an enduring love.
