How Google is celebrating Section 377 verdict

New Delhi [India], Sep 6 (ANI): From activists to celebrities to the common man, everyone is engulfed in celebration after the Supreme Court on Thursday decriminalised Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Tech giant Google also welcomed the landmark ruling by the apex court. It showed support by posting a small rainbow flag, celebrating equal rights, on its home page.

For the unversed, the company has an LGBT community of employees called Gayglers. Reportedly, the term was first used for all LGBT employees at the company in 2006.
A five-judge Constitution bench, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Dipak Misra and also comprising Justices D Y Chandrachud, Rohinton Fali Nariman, A M Khanwilkar and Indu Malhotra, issued the verdict on a bunch of petitions filed to scrap the law.
"Criminalising gay sex is irrational and indefensible," observed the bench unanimously while delivering the verdict. (ANI)
