Washington D.C [U.S.A], May 7 (ANI): Lady Gaga is not just the one who grabbed the eyeballs at the Met Gala. American rapper Cardi B pulled off her red ruby gown very well.
The Grammy-winning rapper hit the red carpet at the fashion event, held Monday night at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. For this year's event, themed "Camp: Notes on Fashion," Cardi wore an extravagant ruby red gown featuring a larger-than-life skirt, feathered shoulders and a beaded cap.
The ensemble's corseted bodice accentuated Cardi's waist and bust, with red beads. It is Cardi B after all, reported E-News
According to Vogue and as cited by E-News, the hand-embroidered stunning dress of the singer was adorned with 30,000 feathers and took more than 2,000 hours to execute. An impressive 35 people worked to bring Browne's Met Gala vision to life.
This is the second year that the "I Like It" rapper has attended the Met Gala, she previously stole the show at last year's event, which had the theme, "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination."
For the 2018 Met Gala, Cardi, who was pregnant with baby Kulture at the time, donned a pearl-encrusted dress by Moschino. She wore a vintage 1995 Mugler ensemble comprised of a pearl-pink "clamshell" out of which the singer did her best Venus de Milo, complete with nude sequin bodysuit and pearl accessories.
And never doubt that Cardi B will suffer for style; in addition to the dress being difficult to walk in, her hairstylist Tokyo Stylez revealed to PEOPLE that her jewelled updo was "so heavy" and "weighed about 10 lbs."
The July after last year's Met Gala, the star welcomed daughter Kulture Kiari from husband Offset.
Praising his wife, rapper Offset, couldn't help but gushed over Cardi's instantly iconic look on his Twitter, and wrote: "WIFEY IS THE TRUTH SHE JUST KILLED THE MET GALA Cardi B, THAT DRESS IS WOW !!!!.

On the Grammys red carpet earlier this year, The 2019 Met Gala is being co-hosted by Lady Gaga, Harry Styles, Serena Williams and Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele, along with Vogue's Anna Wintour.

On the work front, the singer will mark her debut into acting with the film 'Hustlers' where she will share the screen space with Jennifer Lopez and Constance Wu.
The movie which marks Cardi's film debut is slated to release on September 13, this year, as reported by Variety earlier.
The film is being directed by Lorene Scafaria, who has earlier helmed 'This Is Heaven', 'The Meddler', 'Love Is Dead', among several others.
The movie is inspired by a New York Magazine article by Jessica Pressler. The film is set in New York City in the wake of the financial crisis and follows a crew of savvy former strip club employees who band together to turn the tables on their Wall Street clients.
STXfilms is producing the film alongside Lopez, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina, who previously collaborated with the studio on the 2018 romantic-comedy 'Second Act' as well as Adam McKay, Will Ferrell and Jessica Elbaum for Gloria Sanchez Productions.(ANI)
