New York [US], Oct 25 (ANI): Sarod maestro Amjad Ali Khan created a soulful atmosphere and won the hearts of the listeners as he performed at the 2018 UN Day Concert in the General Assembly Chamber.
Khan, one of the undisputed masters of the music world, was joined by his sons Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash along with the Refugee Orchestra Project conducted by Lidiya Yankovskaya as they paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at the annual concert. This year's theme was 'Traditions of Peace and Non-violence.'
Speaking at the event, Maria Fernanda Espinosa Garces, President of the 73rd UN General Assembly, said, "I want to express my thanks to the Permanent Mission of India for supporting this year's event and for selecting the theme. It's such a beautiful principle and a fitting theme for this year."
India's Permanent Representative to the U.N. Ambassador Syed Akbaruddin shared the glimpses of the UN Day concert on his Twitter handle. "Music transcends differences & takes you to a world that has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls. Glimpses of @UN Day Concert hosted by @IndiaUNNewYork #UNDay2018 #Gandhi150," he captioned the post.

They also played the popular devotional song 'Ram Dhun', which is associated with Gandhi and his quest for peace and non-violence.
