Srinagar (Jammy and Kashmiur) [India], Oct. 14 (ANI): The postal authorities in Srinagar organised a philatelic exhibition on Friday, which was aimed to aware the locals of valley regarding the importance of postal stamps .

This unique philatelic exhibition attracted many visitors not only from Srinagar, but from outside too.

Thousands of stamps were displayed in the philatelic exhibition which was especially organised for the locals.

Ghulam Rasool Parray, organiser of the exhibition, stated that stamps have some much to tell and have different mottos.

"The main motive of this exhibition was what these stamps speak to you. There are many stamps present here, some are of Mahatama Gandhi. Once the stamps get released, they are on sale for a period six months and people can buy them," he shared.

He also noted that because these stamps are sale for six months and it is unlikely that they will come out again, the value of these stamps becomes much more.

Visitors, who were present at the exhibition, said they have never seen this type of unique exhibition that depicts the old aged traditions and cultures.

Students and locals both were demanding that such type of exhibition should continue in future as they observed the postal stamps had been an important source for learning about the geography, history, culture, national personalities including and other important aspects of any country. (ANI)
