‘Vishwakarma Jayanti’ is a Hindu festival that celebrates Lord Vishwakarma, the divine architect and craftsman of the gods. It is celebrated on September 17 this year.

The Hindu festival of Basant Panchami, also known as Vasant Panchami, Shri Panchami, and Saraswati Panchami, is celebrated on the first day of spring and falls on the fifth day of the month of Magha. It also heralds the start of Holi preparations, which take place forty days following the feast. Maa Saraswati, the Hindu goddess of learning, music, and the arts is honoured throughout the festival.

On the fourth day of Chhath Puja, which is known as 'Bhorka Aragh', devotees go to the riverbank before sunrise to offer an 'arghya' to the rising sun.

In Bihar, the festival dedicated to Sun and Chhathi Maiya is celebrated with rigorous and strict manners of preparation. A striking difference that one might notice as a non-Bihari is that Chhath is probably the only major Hindu festival that doesn't involve priests or purohits.

On the second day of Chhath Puja 2022, 'Parvaitin' (who observes fast) on this day, cooks roti and rice kheer and serves it as a bhog to the 'Chandradevta' (Moon God).

From thekua, kasar to rice kheer, several sweets are offered as prasad and strictly vegetarian food which does not contain onions, or garlic is prepared during Chhath Puja.

Also referred to as Surya Shashti, Chhath, Mahaparv, Chhath Parv, Dala Puja, Pratihar and Dala Chhath, the four-day-long festival is dedicated to the deity Surya and Shashthi Devi. As part of the ritual, women fast for the well-being of their sons and the happiness of their families. They also offer Arghya to Lord Surya and Chhathi Maiya.
