Workshop held for advancement of Indian Optometry

Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh) [India], June 19 (ANI): A workshop was recently organised for vision care professionals in Dharamshala to raise the standards of Indian Optometry.
The comprehensive capacity-building workshop was organised by India Vision Institute (IVI), in collaboration with 2.5 New Vision Generation (NVG), a division of Essilor India Pvt Ltd., from June 17-19.
It involved 50 vision care professionals.
"Leadership training and such workshops are a major priority for us as they raise Optometry standards, which help in expanding the coverage for vision screening across India," said IVI CEO Vinod Daniel.
"The Dharamshala workshop was the thirteenth in the series of training programs conceptualised and implemented by IVI in partnership with 2.5 NVG with a focus on Tier II and Tier III cities across India. The workshop focused on refraction, dispensing, soft skills and entrepreneurship development," he added.
Workshops have previously been held in Rohtak, Trichy, Aurangabad, Patna, Ludhiana, Rajahmundry, Tumkur, Ranchi, Nanded, Raipur, Siliguri and Jaipur.
Over 400 ophthalmic professionals have been trained since 2013. (ANI)
