Sanatan Kriya helpful in keeping lungs strong, system toxin-free
New Delhi [India], Dec. 8 (ANI): As Delhi is reeling under the pressure of severe pollution and the dip in temperature is creating havoc, you may need some simple techniques from Sanatan Kriya for 10 minutes daily to keep your lungs strong and system toxin free, says spiritual head of Dhyan Ashram Yogi Ashwini. Increase in pollution levels, among other things, takes a toll on lungs opening gates for a plethora of problems. One of the effective techniques is Nadi Shodhnam Pranayam-- an alternate nostril breathing exercise. Nadis are subtle energy channels in the human body that can get blocked due to the various reasons. The Nadi Shodhan pranayama is breathing technique that helps clear the blocked channels, thus calming the mind. This technique is also known as Anulom Vilom pranayama. A regular practice for at least 10 minutes daily will help clear the blockages. The other technique is Jala Neti-- a process of cleansing the nasal passages with salt water-- allows free breathing so that air can enter the lungs unimpeded by mucus and dirt which easily builds up during the day. Another very effective technique is putting ghee in nostrils. Pour about five drops of warm the pure ghee -- made from cow's milk-- up to a bearable temperature in the nasal passage to strengthen the mucous membranes against infections. Pour it in a way that it does not flow down towards the throat but towards the head. Do it before you step out of the house. It is advised to learn these techniques from experts at any of the Dhyan Foundation centers where Sanatan Kriya is taught free. (ANI)
