Nearly 100 superbikers hit Delhi roads for prostate cancer awareness

New Delhi [India], Sep 24 (ANI): Nearly 100 superbikers from BROS-Brotherhood Riders of Superbikes and BOSS - Batch of Soul Super Bikers today took to the streets of Delhi (NCR) to raise awareness of prostate cancer in men.

As the World Prostate Cancer Month is on, Pebble Street organised 'The Men's Ride' on Sunday to promote the cause of prostrate cancer.

Both BROS and BOSS have managed to raise more than Rs 10 lakh through the Cancer Society of India for the welfare of the prostrate cancer patients.

The money will be donated to Cancer AID Society of India.

The bike rally was flagged-off at 5:30 a.m. from Shiv Murti in Gurgaon and proceeded towards Faridabad Highway to Cyber City and then to NH8 followed by 11 Murti and culminating at Pebble Street, Connaught Place at 7 a.m.

Commenting on the initiative, Supreet Sehgal, founder BOSS Group and Satya Yadav, founder BROS Group, said, "Two out of three prostate cancer cases above 65 years of age is found in India and its results are fast noticeable especially in metros."

"This being our first initiative, we endeavor to contribute in whatever possible way we can to the victims of the prostate cancer and the most opportune time to spread a word is during September, which is also recognised as the prostate cancer month," they added.

As per the data from Delhi Cancer registry, prostate cancer is the second most frequently diagnosed cancer among men in Delhi accounting for about 6.78 percent of all malignancies.

Prostate is the second leading site of cancer among males in large Indian cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram; third leading site of cancer is in cities like Bangalore and Mumbai. (ANI)
