SRK's Red Chillies Entertainment to produce Operation Khukri
New Delhi [India], May 8 (ANI): In the honour of Indian soldiers, Shah Rukh Khan's production house Red Chillies Entertainment is developing a film on India's most successful and daring rescue operation overseas, 'OPERATION KHUKRI.' This is SRK's most ambitious project till date. It will be among the most expensive project that the production house has undertaken. A source from Red Chillies stated that a lot of time has been spent developing the script in association with Azure Entertainment. It has been researched extensively. It will be mounted on a very large scale and will be a true depiction of a massive military operation to celebrate our heroes. The story focuses on a rescue operation run by the Indian military to rescue 223 Indian soldiers held captive by the notorious, barbaric rebels in Sierra Leone, West Africa. While serving on a United Nations peacekeeping mission, the soldiers were held captive by rebels for 75 days. The Nigerians derived pleasure from the Indians' misery. The UN did everything in its capacity to help, but it did not end well. When all negotiations failed and the Americans and British advocated 'patience and restraint' in the face of the volatile crisis, India took matters into their own hands to extricate their soldiers. Then, Operation Khukri was launched, 10,000 kilometre away from India, in a steaming tropical forest in West Africa. The movie will hit the floors this year. The film will be shot on real locations in Africa and will have some real life armed combat sequences. (ANI)
