Anil Kapoor clicks pictures, beams with joy as Sonam receives National Award

New Delhi [India], May 3 (ANI): Sonam Kapoor was on Wednesday conferred with her first ever National Award as she was presented with a 'Special Mention' at the 64th National Film Awards held in New Delhi. Apart from Sonam, and her rumoured boyfriend Anand Ahuja, who was also present at the event, her father and 'ageless' actor Anil Kapoor was seemingly beaming with joy. Seen clicking pictures as Sonam received her award, AK surely made for an 'aww-dorable' moment at an otherwise serious event. "Nothing can be bigger than this award. President Pranab Mukherjee and the Government of India have given this award to Sonam, so this day is really big and important for me, my family and Sonam. It is a very well deserved award for 'Neerja'," the 60-year-old told ANI, as he emerged out of the ceremony. 'Neerja', released last year, narrates the story of Neerja Bhanot, a Pan Am purser, who lost her life while saving the passengers when the Pan Am was hijacked at Karachi airport on September 5, 1986. Meanwhile, Anil Kapoor was all praises for his 'Welcome' and 'Humko Deewaana Kar Gaye' co-star Akshay Kumar too. When asked about Kumar getting his first National award, he quipped, "Congartualtions to him! Der aaye par durust aaye!" Akshay was conferred with his first even National Award for his movie 'Rustom'. (ANI)
