Amitabh Bachchan urges govt. to take stringent action against those responsible for Uri attack
New Delhi [India], Sept. 19 (ANI): Strongly denouncing the Uri terror attack, Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan on Monday said the incident is extremely disappointing and hoped that the government takes stringent action against the perpetrators of the gruesome attack. "In the midst of all good news we got this news and it is extremely sad that our soldiers have to die, without any reason and without any provocation. We are all not just sad but also very furious at it and hope that government take stringent action against it," said the 73-year-old actor during the promotion of his recently released 'PINK'. Shoojit Sircar, the producer of the movie, also condemned the attack, saying he would certainly come up with a movie highlighting this subject. "The incident that has occurred is extremely shameful and I am really feeling sad that at such a moment our movie has been released. So despite we are so delighted at the success of the film, no celebrations are being made. Yesterday, when I heard about it, I felt very bad and I will definitely make a film on such a subject if I get chance to," said the director-cum producer. Several others from the fraternity also took to social media to express their condolences. Shah Rukh Khan in a tweet said, "Saddened to hear of the cowardly attack in Uri. Prayers for the families of our martyred soldiers. & may the terrorists b punished soon." Ritiesh Deshmukh tweeted, "Deepest condolences to the families of #UriAttack martyrs who laid down their lives fighting for their motherland." In one of the worst attacks in recent times, at least 17 soldiers lost their lives and 30 others got injured post the terror strike on an army camp close to the headquarters of the 12th Brigade at Uri in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district yesterday. The army yesterday announced that the initial reports indicated that the four terrorists killed in the attack belong to Jaish-e-Mohammad Tanzeem.(ANI)
