Alia Bhatt excited, nervous for her debut IIFA performance
New York [USA], July 14 (ANI): Alia Bhatt, who has collaborated with the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) for the first time this year, can't hold on to the excitement and nervousness of her debut performance on the award night. Speaking at the weekend press conference about the IIFA Awards, the 24-year-old actress said, "I have not been a part of the IIFA till today and I feel like everything happens for a reason." "It had to be when I was in New York. It had to be in front of all you beautiful people. And, it had to be in the year I was nominated for two films. So genuinely, it is really special," she added. The 'Dear Zindagi' actress stated that she is very excited, nervous and enthusiastic about her performance as it's her performance that matters for her the most. Alia has been nominated for the Best Actress category for 'Udta Punjab' and 'Dear Zindagi' opposite to actresses like Sonam Kapoor for 'Neerja', 'Anushka Sharma for 'Ae Dille Mushkil' and Taapsee Pannu for 'PINK'. The actors, who were present at the event included Anupam Kher, Arman Malik, Dwayne Bravo, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Shahid Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Varun Dhawan. IIFA-2017 will also witness stunning performances from stars like Shahid Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon and others and will be hosted by Karan Johar. The final day will culminate with the awards ceremony, where a plethora of Bollywood stars -- and hopefully some Hollywood ones too -- will rock the green carpet and the stage thereafter. The award show will be exclusively aired live on Colors channel on July 16. (ANI)
