Ex-US NSA Susan Rice added to Netflix board

Washington DC [United States], Mar 29 (ANI): Streaming giant Netflix apparently is inspired by the Trump administration which has ratcheted up the intake of high-level employees with television experience, adding former national security advisor Susan Rice to its board of directors.

"We are delighted to welcome Ambassador Rice to the Netflix board. For decades, she has tackled difficult, complex global issues with intelligence, integrity and insight and we look forward to benefiting from her experience and wisdom," Fox News reported citing the company's CEO Reed Hastings as saying, in a statement.

Rice directed the National Security Council staff between 2013 and 2017 and has also previously served as Ambassador to the United Nations.

"I am thrilled to be joining the board of directors of Netflix, a cutting-edge company whose leadership, high-quality productions, and unique culture I deeply admire," 53-year-old Rice, said in a statement.

Rice joins the company after a long career in government.

Before her jobs in the Obama administration, she served as assistant secretary of state for African affairs and as a special assistant to President Bill Clinton.

Other members of the board of the Netflix include tech execs like Microsoft president Brad Smith and Zillow co-founder Richard Barton, and investors from TCV and Redpoint, according to reports.

The entertainment company has about 118 million subscribers globally.(ANI)
