R. Kelly

Washington D.C. [USA], Mar 6 (ANI): R. Kelly has finally broken his silence after being charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse against 4 women in Illinois' Cook County.
The singer's lawyer Steven Greenberg, has however, entered a not guilty plea on his behalf regarding the criminal case against him reported E!News.
The disgraced rapper did his first interview since the charges against him were brought up with Gayle King. E! News cited a CBS Evening programme that shared a teaser clip on Twitter where the singer breaks down in tears and insisted that the claims against him are untrue.
In the first teaser clip released, Gayle brought up the cases against him that were not acquitted. She said, "Women have come forward and said, 'R. Kelly had sex with me when I was under the age of 18. R. Kelly was abusive to me, emotionally, physically and verbally. R. Kelly took me into a black room where unspeakable things happened.' This is what they're saying about you, these are old rumours."
The singer responded by saying they aren't true. He further said that whether they are old rumours, new rumours or future rumours, they are not true.
The teaser had another moment where Gayle brought up a claim made against R.Kelly. "Correct me if I'm wrong, you've never held anybody against their will," she asked and the 52 year old rapper reacted, "I don't need to, Why would I? How stupid would it be for R. Kelly, with all I have been through in my way, way past to hold somebody, let alone 4, 5, 6, 50, you said, how stupid would I be to do that? That's stupid guys!"
He added, "That's stupid! Use your common sense. Forget how you feel about me. Hate me if you want to, love me if you want, but just use your common sense. How stupid would it be for me, with my crazy past and what I've been through."
The singer elaborated further and said, "Oh, right now I just think I need to be a monster and hold girls against their will, chain them up in my basement and don't let them eat, don't let them out, unless they need some shoes down the street from their uncle. Stop it."
The rapper got emotional and broke down while saying, "Y'all quit playing. Quit playing! I didn't do this stuff, This is not me! I'm fighting for my fu----g life!"
R.Kelly has been ordered to return to court 22 March. The allegations around the singer rose after the broadcast of his six part docu-series by Lifetime called 'Surviving R.Kelly'.

Allegations of sexual misconduct against R.Kelly towards young women date back to more than 20 years. Last year, reports of Kelly holding women captive in a "sex cult" were published. Multiple other reports have surfaced over the years. (ANI)
