Pharell Williams and Donald Trump

Washington D.C. [USA] Oct 30 (ANI): Seems like Pharrell Williams is not happy with United States President Donald Trump, as the American rapper has sent a cease-and-desist letter to the US President after the latter played Williams' song at a political rally in Murphysboro, Ill on Saturday.
"On the day of the mass murder of 11 human beings at the hands of a deranged ‘nationalist,’ you played his song ‘Happy’ to a crowd at a political event in Indiana,” Williams’ attorney Howard E. King wrote in the letter, confirmed Variety.
“There was nothing ‘happy’ about the tragedy inflicted upon our country on Saturday and no permission was granted for your use of this song for this purpose,” he added.
On Saturday, a shootout took place at the Tree of Life synagogue, where three separate congregations were holding services. The suspect, Robert Bowers, was charged with 29 counts, from murder with a firearm to numerous hate crime charges.
Trump acknowledged the shooting and said, “This wicked act of mass murder is pure evil, hard to believe and frankly something that is unimaginable. Our nation and the world are shocked and stunned by the grief.”
Later, at a political rally, Trump reportedly played Williams' track 'Happy', which did not go down very well with the rapper.
“Pharrell has not, and will not, grant you permission to publicly perform or otherwise broadcast or disseminate any of his music,” King wrote. “The use of ‘Happy’ without permission constitutes copyright infringement,” he added. (ANI)
