New Delhi [India], May 31 (ANI): American rapper Kendrick Lamar, on Wednesday, received the prestigious Pulitzer Prize in music for his acclaimed 2017 album DAMN.

New Delhi [India], May 31 (ANI): American rapper Kendrick Lamar, on Wednesday, received the prestigious Pulitzer Prize in music for his acclaimed 2017 album DAMN.
He was awarded the prize in a ceremony at Columbia University.
The Pulitzer Prize is an award for achievements in newspaper, magazine and online journalism, literature, and musical composition in the United States.
Lamar is the first non-classical or jazz musician to have won the same since the awards began including music 75 years ago.



DAMN is the 30-year-old's fourth album which he released in April 2017.
Lamar has 11 Grammy Awards and has been lauded by President Barack Obama on several occasions. (ANI)
