Steve Ditko

Washington D.C. [USA], July 7 (ANI): Legendary comics artist and the co-creator of 'Spiderman' and 'Doctor Strange', Steve Ditko died at the age of 90.
Ditko was found dead in his apartment on June 29. The New York Police Department confirmed the report of his death to The Hollywood Reporter.
The cause of his death has not been announced yet.
The look of 'Spider-Man', the costume, the web-shooters, the red and blue design, all came from Ditko.
He was one of the founding fathers of Marvel Comics along with Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.
Fans of his work and the comic book community took to Twitter to mourn the loss.
A user wrote,"Steve Ditko's Spider-Man issues are some of the best and most important comics ever drawn. RIP."

Another user said,"I am beyond sad. For me, the single greatest comic book artist and creator who ever lived, Steve Ditko, is gone. Thank you for your tireless brilliance and boundless imagination, Steve, you uncompromising genius."

"RIP Steve Ditko. Think about the design of Spider-Man. Think about how much just that LOOK influenced. Think about how much in mainstream comics that seems familiar is basically Spider-Man done parodied, remixed, and done different. That's Ditko," tweeted a fan.

Highlighting Ditko's work, a fan wrote, "RIP Steve Ditko, a man responsible for the visual style of millions of childhood memories. Spider-Man is my favourite comic book character, so to see one of his dads pass away saddens me greatly. He will be missed!"

Ditko maintained a studio Manhattan until his death, where he continued to write and draw, though how much, and what unpublished material remains, is unknown. (ANI)
