Washington D.C. [USA], Feb 3 (ANI): American actor-comedian Tiffany Haddish expressed her desire for hosting Oscars sometime in the future but not on her own, only if she could share the responsibility with a partner.
The 39-year-old star said at the Saturday premiere of ‘Lego Movie 2’ that she would love to take up the hosting duties with Maya Rudolph or Will Arnett, reported Variety.
“I would love to do it one day with Maya or even with Will Arnett. I would love to do it with someone. I don’t need all that responsibility on my shoulders — it’s already hard enough being the queen,” she told Variety.
"I don't need all that responsibility on my shoulders it's already hard enough being the queen," she added.
When asked if the Academy had approached her for hosting this year’s ceremony, Tiffany shot back saying, "That's none of your business. I'm not doing it."
The Oscars ceremony is expected to continue without a host for the first time in three decades after actor-comedian Kevin Hart stepped down from the post following a controversy over his old homophobic tweets that resurfaced online last December.
Numerous names have been considered since then as potential Academy Awards hosts, with the team of Tiffany and fellow actor-comedian Maya gaining popularity after their presentation of the best documentary and best short feature at the 2018 Oscars.
Variety previously reported that the current plan is that producers will select a group of A-listers to introduce and present various segments instead of relying on one host for the award ceremony.
The ceremony is scheduled to be held on February 24. (ANI)
