Washington D.C. [USA], Nov 20 (ANI): Rebel Wilson is all set to be part of the upcoming feature adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical 'Cats'.
The 'Isn't It Romantic' star will portray the role of Jennyanydots, an old lazy Gumbie cat, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
Academy Award winner Tom Hooper (Les Miserables) is set to direct the film from a script by Lee Hall (Billy Elliot). Apart from Wilson, the movie musical also stars Idris Elba, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, James Corden and Ian McKellen.
While Hudson is headlining the cast of 'Cats' as Grizabella, the former Glamour Cat, Elba will feature as the villainous Macavity.
Based on T.S. Eliot's 'Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats', the musical - which follows a tribe of cats known as Jellicles - is one of the longest-running shows in Broadway history.
The untitled 'Cats' film is expected to release in December 2019. (ANI)
