Melbourne (Australia), January 12 (ANI): And it indeed is a Happy New Year for Margot Robbie as the actress just took home the Critics` Choice Award in the 'Best Actress in a Comedy' category, for her portrayal of figure skater Tonya Harding in the movie 'I, Tonya'.

The 27-year-old actress was seen on the verge of joyous tears as the announcement was made at the star-studded event.

The Aussie actress was stopped by her fellow nominee Saoirse Ronan (Lady Bird) on her way to the stage, tears welling in both actresses' eyes as they shared an embrace.

This was her second win at the annual awards show, after being named Best Actress in an action movie in 2016 for 'Suicide Squad'.

The actress is also nominated for Best Actress in what is one of the closest races that category has seen in some time.

She will battle it out with actress like - Frances McDormand ('Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri') and awards magnet Meryl Streep ('The Post'), Jessica Chastain ('Molly's Game'), Sally Hawkins ('The Shape of Water') and Saoirse Ronan ('Lady Bird'). (ANI)
