Los Angeles [US], February 2 (ANI): Lady Gaga has been delighting fans around the world for years, and now she has one more big reason to celebrate. The pop star won the 2026 Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album for her latest record, "Mayhem."
Gaga beat strong nominees in the category, which included Justin Bieber for "Swag", Miley Cyrus for "Something Beautiful," Teddy Swims for "I've Tried Everything but Therapy" (Part 2), and last year's winner, Sabrina Carpenter, for "Man's Best Friend."
When Gaga walked on stage to accept the award, she appeared visibly emotional. During her acceptance speech, she expressed how "honored" she was to stand among so many artists and shared how she started making music as a child. She also mentioned that she still has to "pinch herself" every time she's at the Grammys. The pop star also spoke about her partner, Michael, and said that he is by her side "every single day."
"I'm honored to be up here," Gaga said during her acceptance speech. "I've been making music since I was a little girl, and every time I'm here, I still feel like I have to pinch myself. I respect everybody in this room so much. I have to say thank you first to my partner, Michael. I love you so much. You are by my side every single day in a way that I can't thank you enough for. You worked so hard with me on this record all year. So, I love you and thank you."
Gaga also used the stage to speak to women in music, noting how challenging it can be to work in studios full of men. She urged women to "listen to yourself," "fight for your ideas," and ensure their voices are heard.
Stating that Mayhem stands for "discipline and hard work," Gaga shared, "I just want to say to women in music that I know sometimes when you're in the studio with a bunch of guys, it can be hard. So, I urge you to always listen to yourself, always fight for your ideas, fight for your songs, fight for yourself as a producer, and make sure that you are heard loudly. And thank you so much for supporting me, all of you, in my craft. I believe in discipline and hard work and craftsmanship, and that's really what Mayhem is to me. Thank you."
This win marks Gaga's second Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album. She first won the same award in 2011 for The Fame Monster. Gaga also claimed early Grammy wins on Sunday, where dozens of awards were handed out ahead of the televised ceremony. She clinched the award for best dance pop recording. (ANI)
