Washington D.C. [USA] Oct 19 (ANI): American actor Hailee Steinfeld is going to treat her fans as she is producing and starring in Netflix's upcoming music drama titled 'Idol'.
Alongside the 'Pitch Perfect 3' actor, Matt Reeves is also in talks for producing the musical drama through his 6th and Idaho Company, reported Variety. If the deal is sealed, the producers would also include Reeves, Adam Kassan, and Rafi Crohn.
Netflix has not commented on the same yet. However, the streaming service has acquired rights to the Matt King script for 'Idol'. The music drama revolves around a girl who becomes an assistant for a popular singer and then tries to become like her.
Steinfeld and her mother Cheri Steinford will be producing alongside Federal Films, the motion picture division of Hailee Steinfeld's recording label Republic Records.
The American actor's credit includes 2010's 'True Grit', for which she was nominated for a best supporting actor Oscar. She has also starred in 'Pitch Perfect 2', 'Pitch Perfect 3', and 'The Edge of Seventeen'.
Steinfeld will next appear in Paramount's 'Bumblebee' and will lend her voice for the fictional character Gwen Stacy in Sony's 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse'. (ANI)
