Chris Pine, Chris Hemsworth

Washington D.C. [USA], Aug 11 (ANI): Fans of Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth may not be able to witness the duo in action in the upcoming 'Star Trek' film.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, negotiation talks between the two actors and the makers, namely Paramount Pictures and Skydance Media have not materialised.
Talks are also underway to re-cast the original Star Trek troupe, including Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg and John Cho.
Pine was set to play the role of the iconic sci-fi hero Captain Kirk, while Hemsworth was to play his father in a time travelling journey.
The actor duo, who is among Hollywood's A-listers, reportedly asked the studios to stick to the existing deals, but Paramount didn't seem comfortable spending that much money on the flick and backed its budget based on past performance figures.
The 2009 'Star Trek' made USD 386 million, while 2013's 'Star Trek Into Darkness' surpassed USD 460 million.
It is not yet clear as to what is the next step for Trek 4. The project could recast Kirk and his father, or maybe the two sides could arrive at a consensus.
It may be noted that for the first time in the franchise's history, a female director, S.J. Clarkson is sitting in the captain's chair. (ANI)
